Learning Objectives

Through a series of interactive lab activities in a fully functional Kubernetes cluster, you will:

  • Use the Helm chart to install and configure Cluster Agent Node Agents
  • Use Agent CLI commands to confirm that the Agents are running correctly
  • Explore Datadog to see the wealth of data available about the cluster, from overall cluster health to resource usage by individual processes running inside a pods
  • Perform the same steps using the Datadog Operator
  • Upon completing this course you will understand how Datadog monitors a Kubernetes cluster, and be able to choose the best installation method for your own infrastructure.

Primary Audience

This course is designed for SREs and DevOps Engineers who want to monitor Kubernetes clusters, whether self-hosted or in the cloud.

Prerequisites

  • Datadog Foundation course
  • Solid understanding of container orchestration with a focus on Kubernetes
  • Ability to use a Linux command line shell
  • Familiarity with editing YAML in an IDE

Technical Requirements

  • Chrome or Firefox with 3rd party cookies enabled
  • A network connection that doesn’t block web sockets or other technologies.
