Learning Objectives

Upon completing this course, you will be able to do the following:

  • Create a RUM application in Datadog
  • Install and initialize the RUM Browser SDK in a JavaScript web application
  • Inspect RUM data in Datadog to check your configuration
  • Change the RUM Browser SDK configuration
  • Enable frontend Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tracing with the RUM Browser SDK

Primary Audience

This course is designed for JavaScript developers and DevOps Engineers responsible for adding Datadog RUM to JavaScript applications.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for this course are the following:

  • Completion of the Learning Environment course
  • Ability to use a Linux command line shell
  • Basic programming skills in JavaScript
  • Familiarity with editing code in an integrated development environment (IDE)
  • Knowledge of how web applications work
  • Familiarity with the main Datadog products and how to navigate the Datadog app
  • Completion of the Introduction to Real User Monitoring course is recommended.
