Abstract

Every year, millions of data breaches and security incidents occur, with the average cost of a single data breach estimated to be more than $4M. Exploited vulnerabilities can damage an organization’s reputation, and repairing them costs hundreds of hours. Security must apply throughout the software development lifecycle—the earlier issues are detected, the lower the cost of remediation.

This workshop focuses on Code Analysis, Datadog’s “shift left” solution for securing software technologies. From static analysis of first-party code to detection of vulnerable dependencies, both locally and in CI, as well as quality gates, Datadog now prevents security and performance issues from reaching your production environment at every step of the software development lifecycle.

In this workshop, you will learn how to detect and prevent code-level security vulnerabilities in IDE and GitHub pull requests. This requires having your own GitHub account.
