Abstract

Datadog can collect and visualize data from OTel instrumented systems, enabling seamless monitoring and analysis. This course provides a hands-on experience to help you integrate OTel with Datadog. You'll learn how to configure OTel to export metrics, traces, and logs to Datadog, and explore the collected data within the platform. This will empower you to gain insights and make informed decisions based on observability data.

By the end of this course, you'll be able to do the following:

  • Explain the benefits of integrating instrumented OTel systems with Datadog
  • Export OTel instrumented system data into Datadog
  • Inspect OTel exported metrics, traces, and logs in Datadog

Prerequisites

Before taking this course you should know:

  • The benefits and capabilities of OTel
  • Basics of configuring an OTel Collector (receivers, processors, exporters, connectors)
  • Fundamental concepts of monitoring such as traces, metrics, and logs
  • It will be also helpful to know basic concepts about Datadog, such as The Agent on a Host
