Learning Objectives

Upon completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Define key networking concepts, including IP addresses, ports, hosts, and more.
  • Describe how key network components are monitored in Cloud Network Monitoring, including IP addresses, ports, and hosts.
  • Investigate infrastructure performance by filtering hosts by tag(s).
  • Arrange, organize, filter, and visualize hosts based on key data, including tags and performance metrics.
  • Inspect specific hosts to review their tags, performance metrics, overall health, and more.
  • Analyze cloud network traffic patterns and latency to identify bottlenecks and failure points.
  • Create a monitor to trigger a separate alert for each host when a metric crosses a threshold.
  • Silence alerts during expected downtime by muting hosts.

Primary Audience

This course is designed for Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), Backend Engineers and other roles responsible for monitoring, managing, and optimizing the performance of cloud network and infrastructure resources.

Additionally, this course will benefit anyone responsible for network, cloud, and infrastructure monitoring. This could include DevOps engineers or system administrators, who need to troubleshoot issues and ensure the smooth operation of systems using Datadog’s monitoring tools.
