Abstract

Datadog provides many out-of-the-box log integration pipelines that take default logs from common technologies and parse attributes out of them. However, when you change logs from their default setup, you may need to adjust the pipelines.

This course covers identifying when a pipeline's Grok processors aren't functioning correctly, identifying their issues, fixing the processors, and verifying those fixes work.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, you'll be able to do the following:

  • Identify signs of broken log pipelines
  • Use the Pipeline Scanner to determine which pipelines interact with a log
  • Locate issues within a pipeline
  • Make changes in a Grok Processor to fix a problem
