Upon completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Determine how Application Performance Monitoring (APM) is configured and used to help identify performance issues across services with distributed trace data.
  • Explain how synthetic testing can be used to quickly catch a regression in the user experience.
  • Configure and analyze data captured from Real User Monitoring (RUM) to get a fuller picture on user interactions with your application.

Primary Audience

This course is designed for anyone who wants to learn the basics of Datadog from the perspective of an application developer.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for this course are the following:

  • Completion of the Learning Environment course
  • Completion of the Datadog Foundation
  • Familiarity with the infrastructure and systems that power web applications
  • Able to use a Linux command line shell
  • Basic programming skills in any language
  • Familiarity with editing code in an IDE
