Abstract

This course is designed for any language supported by Datadog APM: Java, Python, Go, Node.js, .NET, Ruby, PHP, C++, and Rust. Choose the lab for the language that matches your stack.

Each lab guides you through adding the Datadog APM SDK to an application on a host. You will learn how to configure Unified Service Tagging and enable additional features of the SDK.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to do the following:

  • Install the Datadog Agent and APM SDK to instrument an application on a host
  • Configure Unified Service Tagging (env, service, version) for your application
  • Collect application logs and correlate them with traces
  • Enable additional SDK features such as Runtime Metrics and Continuous Profiler

Primary Audience

This course is designed for developers and SREs responsible for deploying APM for applications on a host.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for this course are the following:

  • Completion of the Learning Environment course
  • Ability to use a Linux command line shell
  • Basic programming skills in your chosen language
  • Recommended: Completion of the Getting Started with APM Metrics & Traces course

To complete the course, you need the following:

  • Google Chrome or Firefox
