Abstract

NOTE: This course was previously titled Block Application Attacks with ASM Protection.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, you'll be able to do the following:

Use Remote Configuration and the Datadog tracing libraries to block attacks against a web application
Block attacker IP addresses directly from security signals
Automate blocking to slow down attackers in real time
Add authenticated user information to security traces and block traffic from malicious users
Customize the response returned to blocked traffic
Manage the Denylist and In-App WAF

Primary Audience

This course is designed for DevOps and application security engineers who use Datadog App & API Protection to detect and respond to application attacks.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for this course are the following:

Recommended: Completion of the Learning Environment course
Familiarity with Datadog App & API Protection or completion of the Detect Web Application Attacks with App & API Protection course
Basic familiarity with Datadog Application Performance Management and the Datadog tracing libraries
Basic understanding of object-oriented programming
